Zeekr X 2025 review: New small SUV a better version of the Volvo EX30 and Smart #1 electric cars?

The 2025 Zeekr X is the Australian debut model for yet another Chinese car brand that's trying its hand Down Under. Firmly positioned in the premium segment, the X is a small SUV of the fully electric variety. As such, it find itself going tyre to tyre with the BMW iX1, Mercedes-Benz EQA and Lexus UX300e.

That said, Zeekr's parent company, Geely, has other brands under its umbrella, which is why the X is closely related to the recently launched Volvo EX30 and Smart #1, with both models competing in the same class. Needless to say, the X needs to stand out from the Geely crowd with unique exterior and interior designs, which is exactly what it does.

In this expert review, CarsGuide Senior Journalist Laura Berry gets behind the wheel of the X's AWD flagship, which is powered by a 315kW/543Nm dual-motor all-wheel-drive set-up that enables a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 3.8 seconds.
