In today’s video I’m attempting to DIY my own version of a $650 designer fleece jacket by J.Kim — a piece I have not been able to stop thinking about.
The whole project actually started when I found the most perfect flower fabric in the remnants bin at my local fabric store. It immediately reminded me of the cutout details on the J.Kim jacket… so I had to finally make it.
For the base, I used the Zip Vest pattern by Puff and Pencil and did a small pattern hack to add curved side seams. From there, I experimented working with fleece, appliqué, and even furniture fabric to recreate the floral cutouts.
