After weighing anchor by hand, we set sail in a nice breeze across the Santa Barbara Channel to return to our home port of Ventura. I enjoy the perfect sailing conditions while Alanna reflects on how far she has come as a sailor and table manners. We would have loved to have stayed out for a few more days, but decide to return to the docks and repair the windlass.
