Soundless footage of the official installation of the Provisional Military Government of Mali by the Military Committee of National Liberation in Bamako, the capital city of the country.
The Committee was headed by Lt.Moussa Traore who came to power in a coup on Tuesday, November 19th. Traore's men overthrew the socialist government of Modibo Keita. One of the first acts of the committee was to impose censorship on all communications media.

Note:
1. Lt. Traore was appointed as president while his army colleague,
Lt. Yoro Diakité was named as the Prime Minister and Head of the Provisional Government.
2. Diakité held those posts up until September 1969. In 1971, he was accused of organizing a coup attempt and was condemned to life imprisonment. He died in the Taoudenni prison camp in June 1973.
