Installing a Maxx Fan Deluxe in our Skoolie Bedroom!

This week we installed a new Maxx Fan Deluxe on the roof of our Skoolie! We had to cut another hole through the bus, for at least the 10th time! You'll see how we traced a square onto our bedroom ceiling and cut that out first, then drilled four holes from the inside to mark the corners of where to cut on the roof. This way both of the holes we cut lined up correctly, and the Maxx Fan fit in perfectly! We used Butyl tape to waterproof around the whole unit, and used the screws provided to mount it. Inside the bus, Mike had to tap into a 12 volt electrical wire, since we weren't sure at first what we'd be using to cool the bedroom, or where it would go. Finally, we put the shroud in place with the last 4 screws, and turned on our new fan! We chose the model WITHOUT a remote control, which can still be opened and closed for some air ventilation in the event of a power loss. We also love that the Maxx Fan can still be used while it's raining. This model will reverse it's flow to blow air into or out of the bus (intake and exhaust), and has 10 fan speed settings! We hope this will be enough to keep us cool by moving the night air across our bed while we're sleeping.
