Cwmorthin Quarries

Starting from a small quarry-side car park, we journey through the hauntingly atmospheric Cwmorthin Quarry, past the tranquil Llyn Cwmorthin, and onto the vast Rhosydd Quarry, rich with industrial history. Follow us along an old high-level miner’s path above the stunning Llyn Stwlan, descend to the impressive dam, and loop back via the rugged service road. Notes:
The route is through old quarry workings; certain parts will be unsafe. Explore off the path at your own risk. Generally a moderately easy walk. The route is steep at the start for a short distance.

some moderate squelchiness underfoot in a couple of place. A couple of very short sections when the path can be a little unclear.
