Welcome to Bradford—a city that often finds itself the subject of criticism. But is that fair? Personally, I’ve always had a soft spot for this place. Growing up, I spent a lot of time here, and my memories of Bradford are filled with warmth and nostalgia. However, it had been years since I last wandered through the city centre, so revisiting was an experience in itself.

One thing that never fails to impress is the stunning architecture. Bradford is home to some truly breathtaking buildings, though it’s disheartening to see so many of them standing empty, waiting for new life to be breathed into them.

Given that Bradford holds the title of City of Culture this year, I was expecting to stumble upon vibrant celebrations, creative events, and a tangible energy in the air. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. If there are cultural happenings taking place, I didn’t cross paths with them. If anyone knows of something exciting unfolding in the city, let me know—I’d love to explore it further.

Bradford has the makings of something truly special. The character, history, and potential are all there. And yet, it feels like the city isn’t quite reaching the heights it could.
