95% of S. aureus resistant to Penicillin
Methicillin (MRSA)
Oxacillin
Nafcillin
Vancomycin (VISA, VRSA)
Linezolid
Daptomycin
Streptogramins
(Quinupristin, Dalfopristin)
Il) Prevention
1.No vaccine
2. Hand washing
3. Avoidance of sharing personal items
4. Shared exercise equipment should be wiped down between users
5. Treatment of nasal carriers (Operating rooms, ICU, Newborn nurseries & food handles).
