In this video, I had a winery tour at Massaya in Faqra, Kfardebian, in the mountains of Lebanon.
I harvested the Merwah grapes, which will be used to make orange wine in amphoras.
I then had a winery tour and visited their cave which is built literally inside the mountains between the rocks that drip all year round to ensure the good humidity for the vinification.
Then the owner, Mr. Ramzi Ghosn tells us a little bit about the history of Massaya, how it started, what makes them so good in addition to some Phoenician history associated with the grape vine.
It was then followed by a wine tasting session where we got the chance to try 1 Rose, 3 White and 3 Red wines.
