也曾想弹一曲春秋
I once wished to play a tune of rise and fall,
与谁共饮酒 唱几句铜臭
Drink with someone, sing of worldly scents that call.
且不论爱恨与情仇
Forget of love and hate, of vengeance great or small,
太平或阴谋 自以为熟透
Of peace or plots—believing I had learned them all.

可生生往往多厌旧
Yet weary grows the heart of ties that soon grow old,
新交来又走 惹我几回瘦
New bonds come then fade—thinning me heart and soul.
可总不能移星转斗
But stars won’t shift for me, nor heavens change their role,
人间一回游 留我个挚友
In this brief mortal trip, I’m left one faithful soul.

这一生弯弯路啊 人事入晚
This winding life—too late the truths I understand,
悠悠几多憾
Regret drifts slow across the land.
知我曲中暖 不知我心寒
They hear my warmth in song, but miss the cold I’ve planned.

世人魑魅魍魉亦正亦邪
The world is ghosts and men—half righteous, half astray,
有多少狐朋不过一知半解
So many friends but grasp me only halfway.
无关时间距离人间风月
Not bound by time nor roads nor mortal night and day,
弦外知音结我弦外之缘
You heard beyond the strings—our bond began that way.

戏台上神鬼乐不休
On stage the gods and ghosts still sing without an end,
台下不过就 陌生得深刻
Below, the strangers cut far deeper than they pretend.
人越是什么都能够
The more a man can take, the more he must defend,
越是都占有 越是更寂寞
The more he owns the world, the lonelier grows his blend.

而在我衣衫褴褛后
Behind my ragged clothes, none waits for me to stay,
无人愿等候 还好你懂我
But you alone could read my soul’s unspoken sway.
有粗茶淡饭便足够
Plain tea and simple meals are more than fine today,
此情永不朽 弦外有人留
This feeling never dies—beyond the strings you stay.

这一生久别重逢 总是不晚
Reunions in this life are never deemed too late,
岁月剪不断
Time’s threads no blade can separate.
知音相作伴 又何必婉转
With true souls side by side, why twist the words we state?

世人魑魅魍魉亦正亦邪
The world is ghosts and men—half righteous, half in shade,
有多少狐朋不过一知半解
So many friends but know me only half conveyed.
无关时间距离人间风月
Beyond all time and space where mortal bonds are made,
弦外知音结我弦外之缘
You felt my strings and thus our hidden bond was laid.

世人梦幻泡影亦露亦电
This world is dreams—like dew, like lightning’s fleeting breath,
如泡沫聚散转眼间便幻灭
Gathered, scattered—gone in moments, born to death.
风来风往吹走过眼云烟
Winds pass and sweep illusions with their gentle breadth,
而我在菩提下长叹着月
And I beneath the Bodhi sigh toward the moon’s soft depth.

时间不渡我一杯禅
Time pours me not a drop of Zen to soothe my vein,
何苦撩拨我一人孑然
Why stir my heart again to face this lonely pain?
刻在年轮的鸢尾花也乱
Even carved iris petals blur in age’s grain,
又如何说完
How could such tales be told or slain?

长月弄不断啼声唤
Long moons can’t hush the crying winds that roam,
深云弄不断瑶琴潺潺
Nor clouds subdue the zither’s murmuring tone.
隔江莫隔悲欢
Across the river may joy and grief still be known,
弄我这一世莫孤单
Let not this life of mine be walked alone.

莫道惶惶人心情易残
Say hearts break quick in fear—fragile to command,
多少种着你的简单烂漫
Yet still I plant your simple, wild hand.
我愿褪尽一身浮尘再浇灌
I’d shed the dust of years to water what we planned,
莫忆魑魅魍魉忆江南
Forget the ghosts of men—remember Jiangnan’s land.

迢迢海市蜃楼千回百转
Like shifting mirages twisting countless bends,
回眸才了人间何处是港湾
Only looking back I know where my true harbor ends.
