Many people struggle silently with persistent acidity, burping, gas accumulation in the upper abdomen, and digestive discomfort that interferes with daily life. For some, these symptoms become so frequent that even routine activities such as travelling, driving a vehicle, or working with concentration feel difficult. Episodes of restlessness, heaviness in the head, and fear of stepping outside can often accompany chronic indigestion. This video features a real patient who experienced these challenges for several years and shares how he sought clarity and relief through a structured Ayurvedic approach.
In the story presented, the patient had been experiencing severe upper abdominal gas, continuous burping after meals, and repeated phases of nervousness whenever the discomfort escalated. His symptoms had persisted for nearly five years. He tried consulting multiple doctors and underwent investigations such as endoscopy, general body scans, and blood reports, but the relief he received from medicines was temporary. Antacid tablets would work only for a short duration, and soon after stopping them, the symptoms would return. This cycle left him frustrated and uncertain about how to manage his daily activities, especially because the discomfort affected his confidence while driving or moving around outside. He also noticed that certain foods, especially bread-based items, triggered more discomfort.
While searching for a long-term solution, he came across the educational videos of Sanjeevani Ayurved Hospital, Gandhidham, Kachchh, Gujarat (NABH Accredited). After hearing about the experiences of other patients, he felt encouraged to seek an Ayurveda-based evaluation. At Sanjeevani Ayurved Hospital, he met Dr. Vishal Pandya (MD Ayurveda), Dr. Riddhi Pandya, and the hospital’s team of 10+ qualified BAMS Ayurvedic doctors, who assessed his symptoms from an Ayurvedic perspective.
During the consultation, it was identified that his primary concern was weakened digestive strength (Mandagni), which was leading to the formation of excessive upward-moving gas (Udavarta). Ayurveda explains that when the digestive fire is low, even simple foods can remain partially digested, producing gas, discomfort, and a sense of pressure that may rise upward into the chest or head. Over time, this imbalance may also contribute to constipation, heaviness, restlessness, or disturbed sleep.
Based on the diagnosis, he was advised a personalised Ayurvedic treatment plan including a short, structured Panchakarma program followed by oral medications designed to strengthen digestion gradually. The Panchakarma therapy was conducted over seven days under continuous supervision of the medical team. The patient later expressed that the treatment was comfortable and did not cause weakness, fatigue, or discomfort of any kind. In fact, he felt improved energy levels day by day during the therapy.
Over the next few weeks, with consistent medication and adherence to the suggested lifestyle routine, the patient observed notable improvement. His burping reduced significantly, the episodes of restlessness became minimal, and he found himself able to digest food more comfortably. Items that previously triggered discomfort, such as certain types of rotis, gradually became easier to digest. He described his progress as a major shift compared to the years of irregular relief he had experienced earlier. According to his feedback, the improvement was steady, meaningful, and aligned with the expectation set during consultation.
Ayurveda focuses on correcting the root cause of digestive problems rather than suppressing symptoms. In chronic indigestion, this often means gently improving the digestive fire, reducing accumulated toxins, and restoring balanced movement of Vata so that gas does not get trapped or forced upward. Panchakarma therapies, when planned correctly for the individual, can support this by clearing blockages, improving metabolism, and helping the body regain its natural rhythms. This structured approach is often helpful for conditions involving recurrent acidity or gas, especially when conventional medicines provide only temporary comfort.
The patient highlighted that one of his biggest concerns was whether Ayurvedic medicines would feel “too hot,” as he had experienced heat or irritation from a few self-selected home remedies in the past.
