New ETS3 to slash KL–Johor Baru travel time to 4.5 hours

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd’s (KTMB) new Electric Train Service 3 (ETS3) service between KL Sentral and Johor Baru starts this Friday and will cut travel time to about four and a half hours, much faster than the usual five to seven hours by road.
With the southern electric line now complete, Malaysia’s west coast rail network is fully electrified from Padang Besar to Johor Baru.
The long-awaited service, which passes through Melaka, will be launched in Johor Baru with the Regent of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to attend.
