KiwiRail 919 is a express freight service that links Christchurch with Invercargill and it is the only freight service to link these two cities that does not have a layover at the Dunedin Rail Yards.
KiwiRail 919 runs five nights a week, departing Christchurch late in the evening and arriving into Invercargill mid morning the following day. On the journey south, KiwiRail 919 exchanges wagons at the various KiwiRail freight depots.
In this video I captured four different KiwiRail 919 freight services on their journey south to Invercargill.
