Ford 8.8 differential Rebuild Part 2- Welding Axle Tubes and Paint!

In this video we're going to start by removing the upper control arm bushings, then prep the rear end for welding of the axle tubes to the housing. Since were welding cast iron we are going to heat up the center section to around 400* F and then weld in 1" sections every 90* to start and continue to fill it in.

Next I finished prepping the housing for paint and hit it wth a coat of rustoleum primer followed by 3x coats of Rustoleum satin black.

Stay tuned for the rest of the rebuild as I have 31 spline axles, 03-04 Cobra 31 spline LSD, aluminum girdle cover, ARP carrier studs, Crush sleeve eliminator, spherical upper control arm bushings, Richmond 4.30 gears, and we'll be welding the axle tubes, and putting in all new bearings and races.
