I ended up in a small village near Buriram in Thailand, right out in the countryside — and my mate Mark introduced me to a local legend who makes these incredible hats… using coconut leaves.
Watching the process up close blew my mind. It looks simple until you realise it takes real skill, the right heat from the sun, and perfect symmetry to make it strong and wearable. And the best part? It’s how life should be — take the fruit from the tree, then use the leaves to create something useful.
On top of that, you’ll see the dogs I’ve taken in (strays with big personalities), local village vibes, the monks walking for donations in the morning, and some unreal home cooking — including a seafood curry stir-fry with crab and prawns.
If you enjoyed this, drop a comment, hit subscribe, and stick around — I’ve got another video coming showing ancient sites / megaliths next.

My first Christmas in Thailand was an experience in “old country style,” featuring traditional weaving and the playful antics of puppies. We enjoyed delicious cooking over a campfire, experiencing the simple joys of village life. This vlog captures a unique Christmas celebration with a truly local flavor.
