“Miss Dilini…If I draw a picture, could you make a dance of it? What if there’s a flower...with leaves… and there’s a bee... and then there’s wind… and the wind blows the flower away and the bee... and there’s petals everywhere from the flower at the end?”
A flower stands tall, its petals soft and vibrant. A bee flutters near, drawn to its quiet charm. The wind begins to stir. Gently at first, then stronger. The petals tremble, the bee clings close but nature, as we know, always moves forward.

Presented by Kandyan Dancers Company, Narthana 2025 was a sold-out showcase at the Shaw Theatre, Kings Cross, bringing Sri Lanka’s vibrant dance and music traditions to a London stage. Curated by dance practitioner, choreographer, and author Dilini, the performance highlighted classical and folk styles performed by a new generation of artists celebrating identity, tradition, and innovation. This year, the event proudly supported the Sahana Foundation, a UK charity funding education and healthcare initiatives across Sri Lanka.
