Today marks Round 7 of the SimRacing International (SRi) Americas GT Challenge (AGTC) Championship as brought to you on iRacing!

In this round we head to Canada for Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Named in honour of the country’s motorsporting legend, this circuit’s location on Notre Dame Island gives it the unique trait of being a hybrid street circuit. Surrounded by both nature and looming walls, our competitors shall not have time to witness the wildlife as they roar around this 2.71 mile course continually wary that one minor mistake could see them in the barriers. However, getting as close as possible to those barriers through its 14 corners is where success lies!

In the GTE class, an incredible third place finish from Francisco Barrioneuvo at Sebring despite a drive through penalty has meant his lead still stands at 36 points over the ever-determined Graham Wildmon. Wildmon shall fancy his chances of victory today given our host circuit emphasises power and straight-line speed, but will be mindful of Tim Perry’s growing threat in the title fight with Perry securing his second win of the season last round!

In the GT3 class, whilst the points gap to championship leader Ale Torres stands at a healthy 77 points, the pace gap appears to have been removed following a spectacular showdown between Torres and Yannis Aulbert last round. Whilst it ended with contact and a favourable outcome for Torres, Torres will know that every round will be about survival to take the crown with Pedro Luis Da Silva; William Humphrey; and Aulbert just some of the names hot on his heels!
