Today marks Round 9 of the SimRacing International (SRi) Americas GT Challenge (AGTC) Championship as brought to you on iRacing!

For our penultimate round of the season we head to the US state of Wisconsin for Road America. Opened in 1955, this circuit is one of a very limited number that has retained its original 4.04 mile layout since its opening, and it is clear why! With its extended straights and condensed corner sequences which weave elevation changes into their midst, our drivers shall need to nail their corner exits before each straight. Failure to do so may see them fall into the clutches of their rivals, and with it open up plenty of overtaking opportunities!

In the GTE class, whilst his main rivals all succumbed to major drama at Long Beach, championship leader Francisco Barrionuevo was able to avoid most of it and claim his fourth win of the season. Having boosted his lead to 32 points over the endlessly resilient Graham Wildmon, it is increasingly looking as though it is a straight fight between the pair for the title. Can Barrionuevo make it a fifth win tonight and start placing one hand on the top prize?

In the GT3 class, a tough round for Ale Torres in California has seen his lead slightly reduced. However, with an advantage of 68 points over Pedro Luis Da Silva, the pressure remains on his pursuer to keep closing the gap. Still, that is only going to serve to further motivate Luis Da Silva whose impressive return to the podium last round after just falling short on several occasions may have been exactly what he has needed to galvanise his campaign!
