Your Pop Up Camper Isn’t Actually LEAKING | Four Tips for Combating CONDENSATION & HUMIDITY!

This video details four tips on reducing humidity and preventing condensation from occurring inside your pop up camper. Condensation can look scary inside your pop up, especially if it’s raining, as it can be mistaken for a leak in your canvas! Don’t worry - it may just be condensation, which can be taken care of following these four tips:

1. Reduce the amount of hot, moist air your introducing into your pop up. This can include reducing the amount of cooking, boiling water, showering, towel drying or simply running hot water inside the pop up;
2. Partially or fully open your windows to introduce less humid, fresh air into the pop up. Couple the latter with utilizing fans (bunk end, rooftop, or stand alone) to promote air circulation inside the pop up;
3. Run your air conditioner - if you have one - and if the temperature is appropriate for it;
4. Purchase stand alone water absorbers and place them inside your pop up camper.

If you’ve determined water is actually leaking inside your pop up and it’s not condensation, remember these few things. Vinyl, the shiny leather-like material, is inherently waterproof and should not need to be re-waterproofed. It’s good practice to condition vinyl with a UV protectant, however. Canvas, on the other hand, may need to be periodically re-waterproofed and it’s especially important to do so after a deep clean of your canvas. Finally, I have heard of water leaking through seems and stitches. If this appears to be the issue, try a seam sealer at the point of ingress.
