Do you know someone who says stuff “hurts”, when the “stuff” that “hurts” really should not? Maybe you are that person? Well, one thing is for certain – they/you are not exaggerating.

Chronic pain is a very difficult topic. It has the potential to redirect entire lives and affect a person on a physical, mental, and emotional level. Couple that with the inherent complexity in understanding its physiology for patients, and you’ve got a recipe for helplessness. Yikes.

This is the first of two videos focusing in on one of the leading theories for development of chronic pain conditions – “Central Sensitization” – and what leads to Central Sensitization itself.

I hope it can help you or someone you know better understand the chronic pain conditions that affect 20% of the North American population.
