John R: McNichols to Bloomer Park | Detroit Winter Dashcam

A relaxing winter drive up John R from Detroit to Rochester Hills’ Bloomer Park.
Start: John R Street a few blocks south of McNichols. The roads are clear but there’s still snow on the ground and covering some sidewalks as we travel north. At 8 Mile, John R Street turns into John R Road. We’ll travel through Hazel Park, over 696, and into Madison Heights. We will pass the Oakland Mall at John R & 14 Mile in Troy and continue our calming drive into Rochester Hills.
End: John R dead ends at Bloomer Park. It’s a beautiful, partly sunny January day, so we’ll take a quick drive through the park known locally for its sled hill and pavilion stairs. The sled hill is closed today but you can see it near the end of the video.
