Capela de Nossa Senhora de Fátima in São Vicente

In this video we're going to visit the Capela de Nossa Senhora de Fátima, in São Vicente! It's probably the most famous monument of the municipality. I'm sure you've noticed it appearing in my previous videos, so i thought it was time i paid it a visit. It was closed, of course lol it's only open when there's novenas or mass.

The view is amazing from up there, you can see the entire parish of São Vicente! I decided to go during sunset hoping to get some nice colors in the sky, which i did! :D There are two ways to get to the chapel, you can take the stairs, which i show at the end of the video, or you can take the path I chose, which is longer but much nicer in my opinion.

The tower is visited by dozens of people every day! I think it deserves a new coat of paint though. The clocks aren't working properly either. :(
The bells of this chapel can be heard in the whole valley of São Vicente.
Construction started between 1940 and 1947, most likely as a way of congratulating the end of the 2nd World War and in a time of full religious fervor to Our Lady of Fátima, under the impulse of Father Lira, with the collaboration of all parishioners.
It opened to the public in 1953.
