In exactly 10 minutes, I tried to cover the major skills you need to learn to be able to draw well. This is about drawing in general, and not specifically figure drawing. Having a big picture overview like this is helpful as you try to map out your learning journey.

It’s interesting that the major concepts can be covered in such a short video. You need to have solid observational skills, so that you can map out proportions and angles well, and see things as abstract shapes. You also need some solid perspective skills, and the ability to draw things using simple forms. A good understanding of light and shadow and then some mark making and line quality skills, and you are pretty much there! You may need to do some specialised study into the areas you are most interested in, such as figures or vehicles etc.

Each of these skills takes a lot of practise to master, but generally you just need to be really good at the basics of each one. So I’d suggest not overcomplicating your practice - focus on the basics of the major skills!
