The Virgin's Lament

In candle-smoke and frozen stone,
She knelt where prayers had turned to bone.
A voice unborn, a vow unspoken,
A halo cracked, a silence broken.
Her beauty cursed by empty air,
No god would stoop to meet her there.
She sang to dark, to ash, to night,
A hymn denied by holy light.

From choirless depths he carved her name,
A whisper dressed in velvet flame.
“No heaven grants what I bestow,
But all shall hear you — high and low.”
“Your breath shall bend the will of men,
Your song eternal, born of sin.
Just sign in blood, just close your eyes,
And trade your soul for lullabies.”

The blade was sharp, the promise sweet,
Her pulse became the final beat.
A virgin vow, profaned, complete,
As silence died beneath her feet.

Oh hear me now through endless night,
I trade my soul for cursed delight.
Let every heart be torn and bound,
By sacred lies in perfect sound.
I’ll drown the world in shattered dreams,
A thousand screams inside my themes.
If this damnation sets me free,
Then take my vow — remember me.

Her voice became a bladed storm,
Crowds knelt before the perfect form.
They praised the sound, ignored the cost,
Each note another fragment lost.
Her songs were light, her life decay,
She burned herself to make them stay.
Applause like chains around her throat,
Each encore signed with blood

The louder she sang, the less she breathed,
A goddess carved from disbelief.
Behind her eyes, the contract smiled,
The devil sang her soft and vile.

Oh hear me now, I fade in flame,
My golden voice devours my name.
They worship sound, not shattered skin,
They crown the song, ignore the sin.
I gave them truth wrapped up in lies,
Now only echoes hear my cries.
If beauty kills eternally,

Would silence hurt the way this does?
Was hell disguised as deaf applause?
