Whilst it's obviously a great game, my one niggle with Quake is that a lot of the maps, outside of the M1 levels, do run together in my mind. They're not that visually distinctive and obviously the music doesn't offer any change in tonal quality either. So it makes writing about my experiences with the game tricky, particularly more than six months after the fact!
E3M5's wind tunnel mechanic is, however, quite distinctive, and I do recall good chunks of E3M6 as well. But as for the rest, there's not much for me to say really. Maybe I need to revisit them (and maybe on nightmare to get the Steam achievement...)
