Cold starting and testing 43073 & 43071 January & Febuary Update 125 Heritage

In this video we went down to the Colne Valley railway to attempt to start our other two powercars, 43082 and 43071. This video is split into two parts for two seperate days. One day we started 43071 up. This Power Car is fitted with an MTU Power Unit. Then in part two we started 43073, which has a VP185 Power Unit.

Both Power Cars started up which made for an excellent video. Towards the end of day two we performed a shunt and now our operational set is formed of 43071 two Ex LNER MK3 coaches amd 43073. Both Power Cars were stored at Long Marston awaiting purchase. As a result they both have not been started up for long period of time. We were able to place a camera in the Engine Room of each Power Car to cover their first startups in Preservation. 43073 Performed well and gave us a classic "Claggy Paxman Start" which was definitely a sight to be seen.

We would like to thank the fitters at EMR for coming down and assisting us getting our fleet operational and ready for our running date. You have been a big help!

We have an offical running date planned for our Power Cars. The set date is the 16th of April 2022. On this day there will be 43071 & 43082 operating with three mk3 coaches. Tickets will be for unlimited rides up and down the line. We will be using our buffet coach to serve light refreshments and bottled beer. We will also have our third Power Car in the bay platform available for a tour! The link to book tickets will be available in below.
