Hello and welcome to The Didactic Laboratory. This is the first video of a series on course planning. In this video, we'll start with a big-picture overview of planning and a research-based approach that I use when I design my courses. We'll land on what is generally known as a macro-plan or a unit overview. The upcoming videos will be more detailed, focusing on how to create individual lessons, but more on that later.
This video might be interesting if you're a new teacher looking for inspiration or if you want to see my process for creating my syllabus. It could also be valuable if you're a more experienced educator, as we'll explore the connections between different research-backed approaches that I use.
In this video, I will be talking about:
Who I am what I do with this channel
How I design my course syllabus according to a goal-oriented process
How I distribute my lessons modularly by means of backward planning
Video chapters:
0:00 Introduktion
0:59 Introduction
2:36 Goal-oriented planning
8:54 Distributing lessons over the academic year
9:48 Conclusion
