Mercury was clearly going for the “Personal Luxury Car” look with larger dimensions and more extravagant features. However, the Cougar maintained its heritage thanks to the three-piece grille, rectangular tail-light bars and several images of the creeping cat such as on the hood ornament, wheel center caps and rear opera windows. Painted in Dark Green with a White “Landau” roof, this Cougar epitomizes mid-70’s culture all over and is a joy to look at! The 351 CID V8 engine with a 2bbl carburetor can be found under the huge hood which, tied to a 3-speed automatic transmission, is enough to propel this heavy cat down the boulevard or highway even during the contemporary era of increased emissions standards.
