... I found it purely by accident. Sailed all my life, wanted a compact powerboat, seaworthy yet low air draught for inland canals and lake holidays, that was small enough to get into any historic town marina, but comfortable having two double cabins. And I wanted a big wheelhouse for an all season boat. Delivering a new powercat to Northern Norway last summer - I found the Viknes Shipyard in Bergen ...... who make high quality, robust and very innovative boats - which do not have the horrid Volvo-with-Z-drive which is vulnerable, expensive and can't be left in freezing waters in winter. Instead these have the legendarily reliable Yanmar Marine engines, with a no nonsense straight shaft. Built for bad weather - with big heaters and packed with clever features.
