"Two Septêneos ago, I saw the Hang for the first time in my life. I received an invitation to a sound therapy experience. It was there that I met Pedro Collares and his Hang, the experience was utterly mystical, imbued with the magic of the Hijaz scale, Pedro's playing touched me deeply, and my life would never be the same after that very moment. A spark had been ignited with great force within me, a force that led me until here

After many years of friendship, music and sharing, I proposed an exchange with Pedro, the Hang Hijaz I saw for the first time in my life, for a creation of mine. After years of deliberation, Pedro finally accepted my proposal and asked me for one of the sweetest of scales, Melog Selisir, a Balinese major pentatonic scale that is personally special to Pedro.

I feel immense gratitude to him for being the one largely responsible for being there at that exact moment, playing mystically. He is an artist and friend who has served as a great inspiration on this journey. And after 14 years of closing this great circle, I have the opportunity to Giving back with my own instrument still leaves me speechless.
Life can be so magical when we walk the path of the heart without expectations, serving a greater purpose that is much greater than myself.

Now I carry this Hang, as a symbol of this friendship and the beginning of my great journey of no return, and Pedro carries a new opportunity to express himself with this instrument that destiny granted him after years of spreading our beloved instrument around the world.
