🌿 Through the Garden Gate | Stitching the Cottage Garden on the Journal Cover
In this third session of Through the Garden Gate, we finally step beyond the threshold and begin to reveal what lies behind it — a mixed media cottage garden, quietly growing beyond the gate.
This video is about adding layers of vintage fabric, ephemera, colour, and gentle detail to suggest foliage, flowers, and the feeling of a lived-in garden space. Nothing is mapped out in advance; the garden forms slowly, layer by layer, guided by intuition rather than pattern.
In this session you’ll see:
🌿 Building a garden scene with layered fabric and papers
🪡 Slow stitching foliage and organic shapes
🌿 Creating depth and softness behind the gate
🪡 Letting a story continue to unfold
This is a calm, unhurried stitching session — you’re welcome to stitch along, gather ideas for your own journal cover, or simply watch and rest.
🌱 About the Through the Garden Gate Prompt
This prompt explores thresholds, transitions, and the small courage it takes to step into something new. The cottage garden represents what grows when we do — slowly, imperfectly, and with care.
