Mower Deck Spindle Bearings. I have a 46" MTD lawn tractor mower deck that needs new spindle bearings. I already have the mower deck off the tractor ,not all remove the same so you will need to figure out how to get yours off. There should be a cover over the outside spindles ,some are plastic and some metal. Most of the time removed by a few bolts. To get the nut off the top of the mower deck spindle , I hold the blade and use a 15/16 socket and impact to remove.You can then pull blade and spindle shaft out . Now you can remove the spindle bearings. Install new spindle bearings and then reverse the previous steps.
