In this video, I turn a candle holder from a piece of Purpleheart. This was my first time working with melted pewter metal, which was really fun. The resulting piece has a very nice, sophisticated edge to it.
The technique for working with pewter is to turn a channel into a waste block and put the melted metal into it. Then the waste block goes back onto the lathe and you turn away the excess wood.
