RopeCAM produces NC-code for any outer or inner diameter rope thread, as well as others like trapezoid and buttress. It uses a number of threading cycles at different locations to rough and finish the thread using a standard turning tool instead of an expensive special custom tool.

All of the codes it uses are customizable for use with different controls. When programming taper for a thread, RopeCAM allows a descending slope for the thread profile. RopeCAM also applies for cable barrel thread NC-programming. Example: Rd DIN 405-1 thread can be machined with a standard turning tool.
