At this weekend’s Extreme Festival presented by Coca-Cola, few had more on their plate — or more to celebrate — than Stuart Thompson of WCT Engineering.

🛠️ A New Era Begins
After an intense build sprint, 14 brand-new MS4 single-seaters made their debut at Kyalami.
💬 “Relieved is the word. It’s been a mammoth task. New chassis, halo, dry sump systems — a complete rethink. But all 14 are here, drivers are smiling, and the cars look fast.”
Backed by the unwavering passion of Ian Schofield, the project marks a massive leap for South African single-seater racing.
💬 “It’s the purest form of racing — as close to Formula 4 as we can sustain here. And it matters.”

🚗 Touring Car Tactics & Hillclimb Hopes
But Stuart’s weekend didn’t stop there. His team also lined up for SA Touring Cars, with drivers like Julian and Jagger showing real pace.
💬 “The prep’s been a bit mixed, but the guys are quick — we’re definitely in with a shout.”

And in a few weeks, the focus shifts to the hill — the Simola Hillclimb, where Robbie Wolk will finally have the machinery to match the fight.
💬 “With the new Gould, we’re no longer bringing a knife to a gunfight. Andre’s tough, but we’re ready.”

From creating the future of racing in the workshop to battling it out on track and up the hill — it’s all part of the mission for Stuart and WCT.
