Raimey was born with a Congenital Heart Defect called a Single Ventricle Heart. It is also known as Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome.
Raimey had the Glenn, her first open heart surgery when she was 2 1/2 years old and the Fontan, her second open heart surgery when she was 4 1/2 years old.
At 15 years old, she had surgery to place an Epicardial Pacemaker in her sternum but a few weeks later, she ended up with a severe MRSA infection and had to have her pacemaker removed. She underwent 6 weeks of antibiotics and was on the road to recovery.
Just a few weeks later, our lives changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with Heart Failure.
