This was a mixed bag of a hike for me. Cons: the trailhead was pretty weird to get to (really had to rely on Google Maps), most of the hike was essentially in the clouds so views were minimal, there was a tremendous amount of condensation on all the plants and portions of the trail were somewhat overgrown so my legs got soaked, and I got stung/bit by some kind of bug that had stinging lasting for hours and a welt lasting for days after; Pros: an overwhelming amount of mushrooms, the trail was not crowded at all, the trail style was very enjoyable, and because of the cloud coverage the vibes were immaculate. I enjoy lake hikes when I know there will be cloud coverage, but the conditions today were even a little too limited to truly enjoy the hike to the fullest.
