$5 Chinese Food Tour in Guangzhou, China | Everything We Eat is $5 Or Less!

Every dish in this video cost under $5USD! Our mission was to eat incredible food from popular local spots and heritage eateries on a budget. All up we spent $30.50USD for the 3 of us to have an EPIC day of eating in Guangzhou, China. All of these restaurants/street stalls are located in Liwan, a historical part of Guangzhou which was one of our favourites for food- loads of eateries with history and just damn delicious eats everywhere!

Roast meats on rice $38CNY/$5USD for roast goose on rice and $35CNY/$4.80USD for roast pork and char siu on rice.

Wonton noodle and pork trotter noodles both $35CNY/$4.80

Nanxin Milk Desserts Expert, No.47 Dishifu Rd, Liwan, Guangzhou
Double skin milk pudding $15CNY/$2USD and mango double skin milk pudding $18CNY$2.50USD

Chen Tian Ji, 15 Fu 3 Alley No. 2-2, Baohua Rd, Liwan
Fish skin salad $28CNY/$3.90USD

Guangzhou is the birthplace of Cantonese cuisine- perhaps the most well known regional cuisine of China. From dim sum to Cantonese barbecue and roast meats, and wonton noodles to congee- Guangzhou has something to suit all tastes. This is a 6 part series of our exploration of Guangzhou’s delicious food scene.

NB- the best and easiest way to pay for food is via Alipay or WeChat pay- you can link your international bankcard to the platforms easily. To get around we used Amap as Google maps is quite outdated and isn’t necessarily accurate.
