🌿✨ A day in Wareham felt like stepping back through time while still soaking up the best of nature’s peace 🌊🏞️
Wareham is one of Dorset’s oldest towns, with roots that reach all the way back to the Saxons. The town walls, built nearly 1,000 years ago, still stand strong. A reminder of battles, invasions, and resilience. Walking along them, I couldn’t help but imagine the stories they’ve seen unfold. ⚔️🏰
I also wandered into St Martin’s-on-the-Walls Church, the oldest church in Dorset, dating back to the Saxon period. Inside, it’s humbling, quiet, and filled with history. Walls that have seen centuries of worship, whispers, and human hopes. 🕯️🙏
But Wareham isn’t just about history. It’s about nature too. The River Frome flows gently past, offering a perfect place to pause, reflect, and breathe. And of course, I couldn’t resist pushing myself again. Heading out for another 55,000-step hiking challenge 🚶♂️💪. Did I make it this time? You’ll have to check the video to find out 👀🎥
This day wasn’t just about exploring Wareham, though. I also reflected on fear. How facing it, step by step, helps us grow. Just like the Saxons built walls for protection, we sometimes build walls around ourselves. But with courage and patience, we can climb over them and move forward. 🌟💭
Wareham gave me history, nature, reflection, and a reminder that overcoming fear is part of the journey. 🌳❤️
