【朗読＋琵琶】『小宰相身投』平家物語より｜[Biwa] “Kozaishō Drowns” from the Tale of Heike, w/ English sub

平家物語より「小宰相身投」の章段です。一の谷の戦いで命を落とした平家方の武将の中に、平通盛（清盛の甥）がいました。相思相愛の側室、小宰相は、通盛の子を宿していましたが、通盛討死の知らせを聞き、世を儚んで入水します。平家物語の原文を、琵琶の音を背景に入れながら朗読しました（後半、一部省略しています）。

The 13th century epic "The Tale of Heike" is a narrative of a once powerful family called the Heike, telling how it rapidly gained and then lost power through a series of battles with another powerful family, the Genji. The story was passed down for hundreds of years by blind monks who played the biwa (a Japanese lute) as their profession. Today it serves as an important text for the modern biwa repertoire as well.

This is an excerpt from the work, describing a scene where Kozaishō, the wife of Michimori, a nephew of the Heike family head Kiyomori, threw herself in the ocean after learning that her husband had been killed in the Battle of Ichi-no-tani.
