There are many ways to model a thread in C4D, most are either limited in the way you can adjust them or involve making a generated poly helix editable before forming the thread.
This method keeps the whole thing parametric and allows you to shape the profile of the thread as well as the pitch, length and tapering.
Being parametric allows you to have good control over how clean the polygon structure is, making it a fairly simple process to convert your parametric model to a clean polygon model once your happy with its look - as this is separate process and I the video's already a bit long, I've split it into a separate video "02 Convert Parametric Screw Thread model to polys".
00 Intro
27 Start set up helix
33 Spline Wrap Plane
40 Add a Rail Spline
30 Using Correction Deformer to create profile
52 Adding a Subdivision Surface generator
10 Adjusting the profile
40 Tapering the thread ends
07 Adding a cylindrical shaft core
16 Adding a taper to the whole screw
30 Adding a slotted screw head
00 The finished screw
