A simple and quick project making this Dibble, or Dibbler, or Dibber by turning poplar wood on my lathe. The more I say these words the more they sound bad to me...
Whatever you want to call it, it's a nice thing to have and probably much cheaper to just buy one rather than buy a lathe to make one BUT there is something special about lathes for me.
I genuinely fell in love with using lathes after I zen'd out as a teen after the first time a girl broke up with me. Now I use the lathe mostly at Christmas to make ornaments. Actually if the background of some of the shots you can see pieces of Christmas trees on the back wall. I make ornaments for 'this' Christmas on the lathe from last Christmas' trees.
And welcome to my little dude who is about two months old now! Daddy's Garage Buddy! (yes, my wife allowed this - she bought that outfit specifically for this shot!)
