It has been 782 days since the world collapsed. The aircraft carrier still floats offshore, but our lives are here now - inside the fences of a fortified U.S. Navy base turned settlement. What began as a desperate foothold has grown into a stronghold with walls, watchtowers, and a population barely holding together. We are survivors, soldiers, and civilians, bound by rules and the work that keeps the gates closed and the infected out.

But safety comes at a cost. Hundreds have died since the outbreak, and the plague inside our own walls nearly finished us. The commander who once led us is gone, and by vote, I carry the burden now. Every patrol, every ration count, every shot fired is my decision. This is the story of how the last active U.S. military base became a settlement, how we still fight to live, and how fragile survival remains in a dead world.
