廈門石室禪院落座於廈門市海滄區陽順路 8 號，是一座歷史悠久的千年古剎。
據史料記載，其始建於唐朝垂拱二年（公元 686 年），原為修行石室，後唐同光三年（925 年）始建為寺院。宋、元、明、清、民國時期均有修建。石室禪院是閩南最古老的舊殿之一，也是知名的藥師佛道場。
禪院建築風格獨特，整體沿山勢自然上升，層次分明。中軸線上分佈著 108 米照壁、放生池、護法殿、大雄寶殿等建築。東側有伽藍殿、琉璃寶塔等，西側有內外山門、500 羅漢群等。後山鐘殿裡的萬福萬壽和平鐘重 24 噸，上有 10000 個福字和 10000 個壽字，被收錄在上海基尼斯大世界名冊中。
寺院後山有高山天湖、試劍石等自然景觀和人文遺產，流傳著諸多民間故事和神話傳說。此外，石室禪院積極開展慈善活動，2000 年初創立廈門市石室禪院慈善功德會，以“效仿佛陀慈悲，弘揚藥師精神”為宗旨，在助學、濟貧、環保等方面貢獻頗多。這裡不僅是宗教聖地，也是文化與慈善的重要場所，吸引著眾多信眾和遊客前來。
Shishi Zen Temple in Xiamen is located at No. 8, Yangshun Road, Haicang District, Xiamen City. It is a thousand-year-old ancient temple with a long history. According to historical records, it was originally a stone chamber for cultivation in the second year of Chuigong in the Tang Dynasty (686 AD). In the third year of Tongguang in the Later Tang Dynasty (925 AD), it was first built as a temple. It was repaired in the Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods. Shishi Zen Temple is one of the oldest old temples in southern Fujian and is also a well-known Dharma place for Medicine Buddha. The architectural style of the Zen temple is unique. The whole naturally rises along the mountain terrain with distinct layers. On the central axis are buildings such as a 108-meter screen wall, a release pond, a Dharma Protector Hall, and a Mahavira Hall. On the east side are the Garan Hall, a glazed pagoda, etc. On the west side are the inner and outer mountain gates, a group of 500 arhats, etc. The Wanfu Wanshou Peace Bell in the bell hall at the back of the mountain weighs 24 tons and has 10,000 characters of "fortune" and 10,000 characters of "longevity". It is included in the Guinness Book of Shanghai. There are natural landscapes and cultural heritages such as alpine sky lakes and stone for testing swords on the back mountain of the temple. There are many folk stories and mythological legends circulating. In addition, Shishi Zen Temple actively carries out charitable activities. At the beginning of 2000, the Xiamen Shishi Zen Temple Charity Merit Association was established. With the purpose of "imitating the compassion of Sakyamuni and promoting the spirit of Medicine Buddha", it has made many contributions in areas such as helping students, aiding the poor, and environmental protection.
