Carillon Sortie by Henri Mulet is a warhorse which belongs on every organist's short list. This piece's title is French for "Bell Postlude", and the theme will certainly recall the sound of church bells in the mind of the listener. Henri Mulet's most well known pieces are this one and "Tu es Petra," the final movement of his Byzantine sketches. It's impressive tonal resources lend themselves well to this piece.
I first heard this piece on the organ in the Mormon Tabenacle on temple square during one of the daily organ recitals.
