Kach Kouch is the site of an abandoned Bronze Age city that existed here for almost one and a half thousand years. Only very recently discovered (early 2025), the remains of this ancient site can now be found in the Rif Valley, Morocco, nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlas Mountains. Kach Kouch does not show any signs of violence or destruction, so it is thought that the inhabitants left peacefully around 600 BCE to integrate with the newly arriving Phoenicians who were taking over the local trade routes.
But what if Kach Kouch had never been abandoned? How would it look today? What city might have grown here?
As usual, the map in this video was made to reimagine history. How might this wee bit of the world look today if it had never been abandoned? If you don't already own the game and I've inspired you to build a city, you can find the game using this link right here...
