On this week's episode of "old as dirt" we have a Galaxy 12" oscillating table fan model 3150, dated 1972, made by Sanyo in Japan and imported by Lasko Metal Products of West Chester, PA. This was the first generation of oscillating table fan offered by Lasko. This style of fan with the wider spacing between cage wires, small white "steering wheel" badge and metal base plate was likely introduced around 1970 and offered through about 1975 when the base plate and cage clip material was changed to plastic, the cage wire spacing became tighter and the badge was changed to the clear hubcap style. Performance-wise it is a typical Galaxy/Lasko, but the blade noise, to me is especially ear pleasing. The high band whistle is a lot lower pitched than what's produced by later versions of this blade.
