On this week's edition of "The greatest things in life come in pairs" we have two Lakewood model 1200 12" oscillating table fans. The fan on the left is my personal fan and is dated May 1977, the fan on the right is dated October 1978 and belongs to my brother-in-law. Lakewood actually introduced the model 1200 in 1977, making my fan a first-year model. This video also goes to showcase some of the early changes Lakewood made to the model 1200, mainly the graphics. You'll notice the "LW" shields and the box around the speed markings on the 1977 fan have a white fill, and the control buttons are lighter colored, while by 1978, they went to the more commonly seen darker buttons and silver "sparkle" fill that was used through to the end of the line for the blue accent color in 1982. I also suspect the Lexan sticker on the base plate disappeared after 1977. Also note that the 1977 fan lists Lakewood's N. Carpenter St. address while the 1978 fan's base plate lists the N. Sacramento Blvd. address that they occupied from 1978 all the way up until the company's demise in early 2009.
