Description: The Oregon Centralized Application (ORCA) offers loans, grants, and tax credit funds to develop affordable housing throughout Oregon. It is the process through which sponsors and developers who want to build or preserve affordable housing in Oregon must go through to receive funding from Oregon Housing and Community Service programs. The ORCA begins with Intake where applicants share early ideas about their projects, and then applicants move through Impact Assessment, Financial Eligibility, Commitment steps at their own pace, within certain reasonability timelines. Funds will be reserved and then allocated on a first-ready, first-reviewed basis so that the projects that are most ready to proceed are funded in a timely manner depending on resource availability. This session will provide details about how to successfully apply for funding for affordable rental housing projects. Presenters will share tips for submitting applications with support available through Technical Advisors.
