► I am Dr. Ajitabh Srivastva, Senior Consultant, Director of liver transplant surgery, HPB-Surgery with Aakash Healthcare super specialty hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi. Today we will discuss common symptoms of liver diseases.
► In the current scenario, liver diseases are common; around 30 percent of people suffer from mild to severe Liver diseases. So, it is necessary to understand the symptoms of Liver diseases so they can diagnose early.
► The Liver is one organ that grows and regenerates; that’s why Liver related symptoms appear on the surface when the Liver is damaged by 80 percent. When the Liver is damaged, the common symptoms appear like Jaundice – yellowing of the eyes or skin.
► A second common symptom is water accumulation in the stomach which increases slowly, and this water increase causes an infection known as SPB (Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis). Because of it, the kidney can be damaged, known as Hepatorenal syndrome. It has been observed in a few people that consciousness level affects due to liver disease.
► This disease can cause sleep disturbance and even can cause commas. The following common symptom is a cough with blood due to bleeding, which can be vomiting with blood or black stool. So, these are the symptoms when it is damaged significantly.
► The Liver, which is early on damaged, shows common symptoms like chronic fatigue, restlessness, irritation, and poor quality of life. These are the common symptoms when patients complain about chronic restlessness; now, it is important to figure out if there is a problem with the Liver.
► I request to all listeners that if Liver symptoms appear, regular blood tests like ultrasound can easily deduct Liver disease so the early corrective measure can take place and timely reverse the liver damage.
